Hampshire Jr. Whip-Purs Week 2 Recap: A Winning Home Opener

Big Wins Light Up the Scoreboard

12U-Navarro and 13U-Majcher had their boys back in Club Dub—and this week they brought friends. Both teams rolled to strong victories, with 13U-Majcher’s squad piling up points and celebrating in style.

They weren’t alone. 12U-Bentley, 10U-Zepeda, and 12U-Navarro all posted dominant shutouts, showing discipline on defense and plenty of firepower on offense. 10U-Ackerly also kept the crowd buzzing with another high-scoring performance.  Meanwhile, 11U-Nyquist battled Oriole Park in a nail-biter before pulling ahead late to secure their first win of the season

Final Scores:

  • 10U-Ackerley 30 - 7 over Algonquin Argonauts
  • 10U-Zepeda 25 - 0 over Algonquin Argonauts
  • 11U-Nyquist 6 - 0 over Oriole Park Falcons
  • 12U-Bentley 34 - 0 over Algonquin Argonauts
  • 13U-Majcher 32-18 over Algonquin Argonauts

Building Blocks for the Future

The youngest Jr. Whip-Purs teams continue to learn, develop, and grow.

  • 7U-Barone came up short against the Algonquin Argonauts.

  • 8U-Moreno faced a tough Rockford Renegades squad.

  • 9U-Kojzarek dropped a matchup to the Division 1 Plainfield Saints.

  • 6U-Tiffany finally got their first action of the season against the Algonquin Argonauts after a Week 1 bye (no scores kept at that level).

Even in defeat, our younger athletes are showing progress each week and building a foundation for future success.

A Heartbreaker with a Special Guest

In one of the weekend’s most dramatic moments, 13U-Levin fell to Oriole Park with just 50 seconds left on the clock. Despite the heartbreaking loss, the boys had some extra motivation on the sideline—Chicago Bears Defensive End Daniel Hardy came out on his week off to cheer on his former pee-wee football coach. Hardy attended purely as a fan of the game, our program, and the values of youth football. We appreciate our fans giving him the space to enjoy the atmosphere, and we welcome #92 back anytime he wishes.  Purple looks great on him, but not as good as navy and orange.  Bear Down.

Shoutout to Cheer

A special thank you goes out to our three cheer squads, who once again kept the energy high and delivered outstanding halftime shows. The athletes on the field and the fans in the stands feed off your spirit every single week!

Looking Ahead

With Week 2 in the books, the Jr. Whip-Purs shift their focus to the road. Week 3 sends teams to Elgin, Northlake, and Aurora before returning home for Homecoming in Week 4.

The Home Opener showed what preparation, teamwork, and effort can accomplish. The Jr. Whip-Purs will look to keep that momentum rolling into the weeks ahead.
